BEAM (B Melayu, English & Arithmetic Masters) is an annual national level
competition designed to empower students in mastering the art of mathematics and the precision of language.

*Like all previous BEAM, PAJSK scores will be approved by MOE and awarded to participants after the Grand Final.

Three (3) schools with the most finalists will win a cash prize of RM1500.
All students who meet one of the following criteria will get the e-Certificate of Participation
Complete two Monthly Challenges and score at least 50/300
Complete the Qualifying Round and score at least 50/300
Enter the Elite Tier by winning any Monthly Challenge
The e-Certificate can be downloaded from the BEAM Parent's portal in September 2026.
II - How to join?
All students who study in the primary schools, either government of private, can participate in the BEAM26.
There are 6 categories:
Age 7 - Students born between 1st Jan 2019 to 1st Jan 2020
Age 8 - Students born between 1st Jan 2018 to 1st Jan 2019
Age 9 - Students born between 1st Jan 2017 to 1st Jan 2018
Age 10 - Students born between 1st Jan 2016 to 1st Jan 2017
Age 11 - Students born between 1st Jan 2015 to 1st Jan 2016
Age 12 - Students born between 1st Jan 2014 to 1st Jan 2015
It is free to join the competition and participate in the Qualifying Round and the *Grand Final.
*Only the 35 top contestants in each year will be invited to the Grand Final.
All primary students can register individually through the BEAM website.
The are two paths to the Grand Final:

Winning a Monthly Challenge and enter the Elite Tier
Winning Top 3 in the Elite Tier

Completing a Monthly Challenge
Joining the Qualifying Round and become one of the Top 35 scorers

Yes, BEAM competitions are approved by the Ministry of Education.
III - Competition Date, Time and Venue
Practice Modules will be opened until 31 December 2026.
The questions for Practice Module will be updated monthly to tally with the school syllabus.
Practicing with the Practice Module will help students in mastering the school syllabus greatly.

The competition is highly competitive. The more practice, the higher chance a contestant will win the competition.
The Practice Modules can be accessed with an active enrolment.
There are 6 Monthly Challenges to serve as the progress checks and practice for students.
The Top-5 winners in the Normal Tier will enter the Elite Tier, and the Top-3 winners in the Elite Tier will secure the seat to Grand Final.

An active enrolment is required to join the Monthly Challenge.
Participation is optional.
The results of Round 1 to 6 will NOT affect the chance to enter the Qualifying Round.
Contestants must login and complete the test within the time frame.
Joining the Qualifying Round is required to be qualified to the Grand Final (except the Top-3 winners in the Elite Tier). Joining is free.
The top 35 contestants per year in each region will be qualified to the final.

Grand Final Test
The Top 15 winners in each category will be invited to the Grand Final and Award Ceremony.
A 40-minute Grand Final test with 60 questions (on paper) must be completed prior to the award ceremony.
The final score will be calculated based on the following weightage:
70% - Final Test (Round 1)
30% - Grand Final Test
IV - Scope of the Competition
Monthly Challenge
Online - There will be 100 Mathematics questions, 100 English questions and 100 Bahasa Melayu questions. Participants will have to answer all questions in 60 minutes.
Qualifying Round
Online - There will be 100 Mathematics questions, 100 English questions and 100 Bahasa Melayu questions. Participants will have to answer all questions in 60 minutes.
Grand Final
Paper Based - There will be 30 Mathematics questions, 30 English questions and 30 Bahasa Melayu questions. Participants will have to answer all questions in 50 minutes at the Grand Final venue.
For Qualifying Round, the webcam is required to be turned on. Contestants who are found cheating will be disqualified.
The Grand Final is the physical paper based exam.
The will be multiple choice questions and subjective questions.
The questions will be based on the KSSR textbooks following the age group.

Participants who answer the most questions correctly will be the winner. If two participants answer the same number of questions correctly, whoever uses the shorter time will win.
V - System Requirement
A computer (Windows 10+ or macOS) or tablet (Android 10+ or iOS 12+) with Chrome browser and webcam can be used to access the competition.
The webcam must be on during the competition session for the anti-cheat system to operate. Whoever closing the webcam will be disqualified.

VI - The Organisers
Penang Math Platform (PMP), as the name implies, is a mathematics learning centre set up primarily as part
of the Penang STEM initiative, an overall synergistic ecosystem in the state to complement the current educational system
(primary schools, secondary schools, vocational schools, colleges and universities) for STEM-learning.
Earlier STEM Centres which were set up in Penang namely Penang Science Cluster, Tech Dome Penang, Penang Skills Development Centre and @CAT mainly focused on Science (S), Technology (T) & Engineering (E) and now PMP which focuses on Mathematics (M) fits the final component of the state’s STEM initiative.
Bright Robin, is a technology company focuses in the research and development of education technology,
artificial intelligence, classroom delivery software and adaptive learning contents. Founded in 2009, there are
now more than 20 Bright Robin learning centres in Malaysia and Bright Robin has expanded its footprint to UAE and Sri Lanka.

The Organiser reserves the right to amend, modify, or cancel any part of the event, including but not limited to the schedule, format, rules, prizes, or venue, at any time without prior notice. Any such changes will be made at the sole discretion of the Organiser, and participants shall be bound by the revised terms.
